NBA star Dwight Howard would love a chance to get back in the league when his time on Dancing With The Stars is over. But will the NBA take him back?
In a new interview, the father of five discussed his goals for the future and where he’d like to be after exiting the competition. Read on to get the scoop.
Dwight Howard Dreams Of Winning Another Championship With The Lakers
Former Lakers star Dwight Howard is having the time of his life competing on Dancing With The Stars at the moment. Although he and Daniella Karagach have quite a height difference, they’ve managed to pull off some stunning routines.
Dwight spoke with Above The Rim with DH 12 to discuss his time in the NBA and where he might like to go from here.
As many of his fans recall, Dwight Howard was with the Lakers when they won the 2020 championship. Sadly, they never got to have their celebratory parade due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 38-year-old says that was something he sorely missed during the worldwide lockdowns.
The former Laker said he really wanted to come back to the team, but his agent told him the team wouldn’t make him an offer. But general manager Jeanie Buss told him that wasn’t true and there was a major misunderstanding. Dwight admitted he was hurt, but still had a lot of love for the team.
“I’m [still] in shape for basketball, so Jeanie, give me one more chance,” he joked on the podcast.

The Basketball Player’s Time On DWTS May Be Almost Up
If Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach can’t pull their scores up, their time in the ballroom may be over. Out of the remaining eight couples, they’re hovering around the bottom of the leaderboard. Another couple will leave at the end of Disney Night next week, and it very well could be them.
Daniella has worked wonders with athletes before, including NBA player Iman Shumpert. They even won the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 30. But can she do the same with Dwight?
The full list for Disney Night is out. Next Tuesday, Dwight and Daniella will perform the Tango to “When Can I See You Again?” from Wreck-It Ralph. Then for the team routines, they will be part of “Team Roar” and perform to “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” from The Lion King.
Do you think Dwight Howard will get another shot at the NBA? Is his time on DWTS almost over? Leave your own thoughts and opinions in the comments.
