General Hospital star Kristina Wagner sadly lost her youngest son, Harrison, in 2022. See how she honored his memory.
Heartbreaking Loss
The world of daytime television was shocked and saddened when General Hospital star Kristina Wagner’s son, Harrison, passed away in June 2022 at the age of 27. The cause of death was later confirmed to be an accidental overdose of fentanyl and alprazolam.
Kristina, who plays Felicia on the long-running ABC soap, has found poignant ways to keep her son’s memory alive. On what would have been his 28th birthday, she shared an emotional post on Instagram, celebrating the life they had shared.
The actress was married to her GH co-star Jack Wagner from 1993 until they officially divorced in 2006. In addition to Harrison, they share another son, Peter.
Following Harrison’s death, the former couple set up the Harrison Wagner Scholarship fund, with the money going to a Southern California sober living community to help recovering addicts stay clean.
Despite divorcing, Jack Wagner convinced his ex-wife to co-star alongside him on Hallmark’s When Calls The Heart.
A Permanent Tribute
Kristina Wagner took to her Instagram a few days ago to share one of the most striking tributes to her late son – a memorial tattoo in honor of Harrison. She got her upper bicep tattooed with her son’s handwritten message, “Love, Harrison.” She shared an extensive caption on the snapshot.
“When you’re afraid, you close yourself off. When you open your heart and mind, what comes back from the universe is pure love and joy, and you begin to understand that your loved ones are still with you. There is no blame, fault, anger, or guilt— just unconditional love that gives you the freedom to go on. His signature is on my flesh until I die. And when I die, I’ll get that hug. But I can wait.”
The tattoo is a permanent reminder of her love for her son and ensures he will always be with her.
Several of her co-stars and others in the soap industry showed their support in the comments. Finola Hughes, who plays Anna, wrote, “Kristina, you are the biggest, baddest warrior, moving through it all with grace. I stand in awe of your journey.”
Former co-star Vanessa Marcil (Brenda) simply wrote, “Love you.”
You never get over losing a child, but now the GH star can simply look at her arm and feel closer to her late son, Harrison.
