Jeopardy! champion Isaac Hirsch has a lot of fans, and part of his popularity comes from his sense of humor. However, one of his most recent jabs at humor might not find laughs from all people. During one of his recent wins, Jeopardy! ended up preempted by a presidential address.
Isaac made a joke about it being “rude,” and here is how that all went over.
Isaac Hirsch Jokes About Jeopardy! Preemption
On Thursday’s episode of Jeopardy!, Isaac Hirsch won yet again to extend his winning streak. The champion has qualified for the Tournament of Champions and is now trying to build up how much money he has won as a repeat champion. However, that Thursday episode was interrupted.
Thursday’s Jeopardy! episode was preempted when President Joe Biden delivered a speech to the nation. This happened right before Ken Jennings announced the Final Jeopardy! category in certain areas of the country. ABC immediately switched to the press conference.
Isaac won that game, his seventh in a row, but many fans didn’t get a chance to see it. Isaac then took to X to make a small joke about the preemption. He called out President Biden for preempting the game show for his press conference then proceeded to continue to try to make it comical:
I don’t want to get too political but I think it was pretty rude for President Biden to preempt Jeopardy for a press conference where he said I “must be stopped” as Jeopardy champion and that he would “shave (my) mustache off” with his bare hands

It was clearly a joke, and, fortunately for Isaac, many fans enjoyed his humor about the situation:
- “I get so annoyed when Jeopardy gets interrupted…at least it was already a runaway hah”
- “We missed the final when they broke in for the press conference. Wasn’t sure you won (but of course you did) until Friday’s game aired!”
- “Top tier response, was pretty annoyed at the whole situation and this tweet made me feel better. Thanks, Isaac.”
Isaac Hirsch Heading Toward Tournament Of Champions
That Thursday Jeopardy! game was another big win for Isaac Hirsch, who has already qualified for the Tournament of Champions. He is also still in the running for more prize money, as he also won on Friday.
Isaac would need to win another week and a half worth of games to catch up to this year’s top winner, Adriana Harmeyer, who won 15 in a row. He possibly won’t catch her in money before that either, as he has $195,389 compared to her $369,600.
