Jeopardy! is one of the most popular game shows out there. However, just because that is the case, it doesn’t mean everyone has the time to watch the show live when it airs on cable. Recently, however, viewers could not watch it via streaming, either, and watchers were, understandably, upset. So, what’s the latest on this?
Jeopardy! Game Show Just Wrapped Season 40
As Jeopardy! viewers saw not too long ago, the fan-favorite game show that tests knowledge just wrapped Season 40 of the program, an incredible run by any stretch. When it comes to the biggest game shows and longest-running ones that are still on the air, Jeopardy! is certainly one of them.
Along with The Price Is Right and Wheel Of Fortune, Jeopardy! is right up there with the best of them. The only downside for a lot of viewers of these popular game shows is the fact that many of them are now on a break, which means viewers are left to watch old episodes until the new ones start up again, usually in the fall.
Major Streaming Platform Gives Game Show The Boot
One of the ways that viewers have been able to tune in to watch episodes of Jeopardy! is through a streaming app called Pluto TV. Of all of the streaming platforms, this was the only one where Jeopardy! fans could tune in and watch episodes. With the show currently on a break, it was all the more reason for viewers to turn to the app to catch their favorite game show and sharpen their knowledge with older episodes.
However, Jeopardy! fans who have been relying on Pluto TV to catch the show were in for a rude awakening not too long ago. Pluto TV has had a channel dedicated to the popular game show that aired nothing but old episodes of the program. This was a great way for longtime fans to get their hit of nostalgia, as the episodes featured iconic host, Alex Trebek.
For fans who recently turned to the channel, it was no longer available, with a message that read: “Jeopardy! hosted by Alex Trebek is no longer available on Pluto TV.”
Jeopardy! Fans Rage At Sudden Removal
Not surprisingly, Jeopardy! fans are livid over this recent change, with many viewers taking to various social media platforms to express their frustration.
- One watcher said: “A moment of silence, please.”
- Another person added: “Please no – not when season 40 is ending as well Please don’t let it be!”
It turns out, Vulture confirmed that Pluto TV’s agreement with Jeopardy! and Wheel Of Fortune ended, as it was only an agreement for two years.
