Kate Gosselin Recently Opened Up About An ‘Unimaginable Loss’
Many were introduced to Gosselin and her family from various reality shows. In 2007, they were the focus of the reality series, Jon & Kate Plus 8.
Following Jon and Kate’s divorce, the series was retooled into Kate Plus 8. In addition, Kate has appeared on Dancing with the Stars and even served as a guest co-host on The View.
Fans have also followed Kate’s life on social media. Recently, Kate shared tragic news during the Christmas holiday from the week before: the passing of her beloved dog, Nanuq.
In a slideshow post, Kate showed an image of her dog. As a subtitle read, “We suffered an unimaginable loss on Friday night. My soul girl, the rest of me, passed away quickly in the car on our way home for Christmas. I am taking a break from TikTok because I am hurting so deeply. But I know you guys loved her too, So, I needed to let you know.”
In the second slide, Kate shared, “I will spend the rest of my life missing you, NuNu. Life will never be the same. I loved you more than life itself. I’m so sorry, I couldn’t save you.” In a dedication, she wrote, “Nanuq Juneau 04/19/2016 – 12/19/2025.”

In a caption, Kate also wrote, “I have no words. One minute, she was here and healthy. The next, she was gone. Her last gift to me was when she got into the truck to leave, she poked her head forward to where I was sitting in the passenger seat and licked my left cheek, twice.”
Kate shared that she would share more details at a later date. However, for now, she noted, “For now, I cannot.”
Fans often saw shares from Kate about Nanuq and her life in North Carolina. In a post from earlier this month, Kate shared a video on Instagram of her taking her dogs to see Christmas lights.
