Former pro-basketball player Lamar Odom has entered a rehab facility just days after he was arrested for a DUI. There was more that led up to his arrest on January 17th, 2026, but it seems that he is taking the necessary precautions for himself and those he loves. Lamar Odom Enters Rehab Amid DUI Arrest
It was a little over a decade ago that Lamar Odom nearly died from an overdose at a Las Vegas, Nevada, brothel. He was estranged from his then-wife, Khloe Kardashian, but she rushed to his side. Although the mogul and reality star had prior life commitments, she did not care. Taking care of Lamar was her priority, and she made sure she handled his affairs. He got better, and it seemed that he had his life on track. The former pro-basketball player even made an appearance on Khloe’s family’s show, The Kardashians, where they seemingly reconciled.
Unfortunately, things took a turn on January 17th, 2026, and Lamar Odom was pulled over. There was a pungent odor of marijuana coming from his excessively speeding vehicle. He did a field sobriety test, and it appeared he was not sober. This was tragic given that he had turned his life around after nearly dying ten years earlier. Now, he has taken his life into his own hands and has entered a rehab facility, per Gina Rodriguez, his manager. Lamar will be at iRely Recovery in Los Angeles, California, for thirty-days to “reset and focus on his health.”
Gina went on to add:
“After a recent incident, he took a step back to reflect and address triggers he’s been dealing with. He’s taking full responsibility and choosing to be proactive about his wellbeing.”
However, it is unclear how Lamar Odom’s rehab stay will impact the outcome of his court appearance. The former Los Angeles Laker is set to appear in court in March 2026. Yet, heading to rehab may very well show a judge that he is committed to fixing his life.
Is This For Real?
As of now, it is unclear if Lamar Odom really believes that he has a problem or if he is doing this to avoid a harsh punishment. Many were shocked that he was arrested and questioned what had happened in his life to fall so badly. However, others had faith that he could overcome and wanted to believe he could get better with the proper help:
