No one in this life gets a do-over – you’re born, you live, and then you die. Whether you lived a good life or wasted it, it doesn’t matter once death knocks.
But if offered a chance to experience the best version of what could have been, would you take it?
In Spartacus: House of Ashur, a dishonorable man is brought back from the dead and shown what his life would have been like if it had taken a different trajectory.

The new installment in the Spartacus saga does something atypical by exploring an alternate history by changing a single, fundamental fact.
What if Ashur had not died by Spartacus’ hand in Spartacus: Vengeance, instead becoming the dominus of his former master’s house?
The new saga returns to a familiar world of gore, sex, and treachery as Ashur attempts to establish himself as a respectable member of the Roman community.
His only way is through the games, which require him to produce a top-tier gladiator.
However, as Batiatus can attest, it’s not an easy thing to do.
If buff men pummeling each other gets your heart pumping, prepare to unleash your inner caveman once again.

Starz released a trailer that reminds us what made the Spartacus saga one of the most popular in the world. Adrenaline, fury, sex, blood, roaring crowds, and the taste of victory mix to form an intoxicating experience.
Ashur is back, and he towers over everyone as he regales men with tales of glory through the arena.
There’s virtually no difference between the House of Ashur and the House of Batiatus save for the men and their dotore.
His greatest challenge now is to produce a gladiator who can square off against the best Rome has to offer.

That’s his only way into the highest halls of this society that regards him merely as a former slave and a proper loser.
Not even his prettiest fighters — and yes, their cocks are impressive — leave a mark. Ashur needs a miracle, and fast.
A New Challenge Emerges, and Someone Rises to It
Thank Jupiter’s cock — his salvation arrives in the form of Achillia, a fierce gladiatrix with grit to spare and zero patience for tradition.
A woman in the arena? That’s sacrilege. But Achillia doesn’t ask permission. She carves her place with blood and defiance, daring Rome to look away as she dismantles its sacred order.
This trailer leans into many of the elements that made Spartacus such a hit. Whether that’s enough to satisfy viewers remains to be seen.

Noticeably, it leaves a Spartacus-sized hole that could make or break the show depending on how the absence is handled.
Spartacus: House of Ashur reintroduces Nick E. Tarabay as Ashur, the new Dominus of the house to which he once belonged as a slave.
Joining him is his battle-hardened gladiator trainer, Korris, played by Outlander’s Graham McTavish.
Tenika Davis is Achillia, a relentless gladiatrix who could be the answer to Ashur’s prayers.
Jordi Webber is Tarchon, Jackson Gallagher is Julius Caesar, and Jaime Slater is Caesar’s wife, Cornelia.

House of Ashur doesn’t shy away from the mess — it revels in it. It looks like everything Spartacus fans crave, and if you’ve been vibing with the chaos of The Boys or its spinoff Gen V, this might be your next obsession.
We will have coverage for you in the coming weeks, before the two-episode premiere on December 5, so keep an eye out for that.
