After all those emotional cliffhangers in The Hunting Party’s Season 1 finale, fans have been waiting for the NBC drama to return.
Did Oliver Odell survive? Who’s in charge of the base, and how will the team chase after these pesky serial killers? How many killers escaped from the Pit, and what is their mission?
The Hunting Party Season 2 premieres on NBC on January 8, 2026, at 10/9c. The official trailer takes the team’s mission to an exciting new level.
The team’s hunt is back on, and the team is chasing more dangerous serial killers.
While that doesn’t reveal who they’re working for, it suggests they’re still hunting for the Pit’s escapees, so Attorney General Mallory can’t stop them.
Bex Henderson, Shane Florence, and Jacob Hassani are unbreakable, especially with Jennifer Morales by their side.
That’s right. The entire team – Melissa Roxburgh, Patrick Sabongui, Josh McKenzie, and Sara Garcia is returning.
These killers want to send a message, and they crave power and control.
From the voiceover, Bex sounded both tired and determined to put these monsters away.
It’s frightening to think that these killers are expanding and not disappearing any time soon.
We’re rooting for Bex and the team to stop them before they hurt anyone else.
NBC has lined up some fascinating guest stars for The Hunting Party Season 2, which you’ll see featured in the trailer.
The episodes are still titled after the serial killer, and in the Season 2 premiere, Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) portrays a “Boogeyman” killer who targets women.
Here’s a fun fact. His son, Finnigan, will play Ron Simms, the killer, in flashbacks.
Niecy Nash-Betts appears in Episode 2 as a detective to assist Bex in finding a serial killer who preserves his victims in acrylic resin.
That’s just the beginning. NBC hired so many well-known stars to play sinister serial killers this season.
Elizabeth Gilles (Dynasty) plays one who breaks the necks of her massage clients, and Kelsey Grammer (Frasier) portrays a cult leader and serial killer who has an evil plot.
We’re excited to learn the motivations of these killers, and can’t wait to see these actors appear on The Hunting Party.
While the trailer mostly teased the new, terrifying killers, The Hunting Party Season 2 should also feature more personal character arcs, including learning who they’re working for and who they can trust.
This will coincide with whether Oliver Odell lives or dies. Nick Wechsler remained in the Season 2 cast list, so we’re hopeful he’ll be around.
We want to see that love triangle, and so did Melissa Roxburgh, saying Bex had different relationships with both men.
The rest of the cast has potential personal arcs to explore, as we’ll hopefully see Shane learn who his birth mother is and more about how prisoners graduate from the Pit.
After Morales’s work on The Hunting Party Season 1, we’d also like to see her in the field again.
Many of these serial killers touch a nerve with the team.
I’m eager to see which ones will trigger things for Bex, Shane, and Hassani, and how they’ll grow closer together from these adventures.
With a star-studded cast, the resolution to that cliffhanger, and higher stakes than ever, The Hunting Party Season 2 is poised to be a must-watch season!
