The View Hosts Debate 2025 ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ Pick
Actor Mel Gibson has the honor of being named PEOPLE magazine’s first Sexiest Man Alive. The annual contest started in 1985 and continues today. The magazine has made some bizarre choices over the years (Blake Shelton, looking at you!) and their choices are always hotly debated.
This year, the magazine chose Bridgerton and Wicked star Jonathan Bailey. And the host of The View had thoughts. Jay Behar brought the topic up to the table during a recent weekend episode of the talk show. While most of the ladies agreed that Jonathan Bailey was an acceptable choice, he wasn’t their first choice.
Sunny Hostin named Idris Elba, Brad Pitt, and Channing Tatum as her top three former Sexiest Man Alive covers. Ana Navarro gushed over her celebrity crush, Richard Gere.
“Remember Richard Gere was here, what, a couple of weeks ago? He gave me a back rub. He had me swooning. I had gay friends who were in the front row of The View that day, and he shook their hand, and they were like, ‘Oh, we’re not washing this hand.’ He’s suave, he’s charming, self-confident — all those things I find very sexy. I don’t think that man’s ever not looked great,” she said.
Sara Haines Picks Former NBC Star
As for Sara Haines, she said that the 2025 cover should have gone to Noah Wyle. The former ER star has been making waves for his portrayal on HBO’s The Pitt. “Trust me, watch two episodes. And I was like, ‘You can save me, booboo.’ Like, he was so smart and brilliant. I love a doctor,” she told her co-hosts.

Ana Navarro joked that Bernie Sanders was Joy Behar’s choice. And Joy didn’t hate it. “You know, I think he’s hot. Bernie Sanders — that’s a good idea, I never thought of that. I like a smart Jewish guy, and that’s who he is,” she said.

Despite filming The View in Manhattan, New York, the hosts of the show are close to Hollywood elite. And Ana Navarro never lets anyone forget it. One fan suggested a drinking game when Ana name-drops a celebrity friend.
