Since September, DWTS Season 33 has captivated fans and included several exciting performances. Now, there is a new Mirrorball Trophy winner and reigning champion.
Who took home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy at the end of the big Season 33 finale?
Read on to see what happened during the finale and who became the new champions.
The DWTS Season 33 Finale Featured Fun Guest Performances
Everyone felt excited to see a new Mirrorball Champion crowned, but there were also several stunning guest performances during the evening. Lifelong friends Derek Hough and Mark Ballas shared a beautiful duet.
On top of that, Season 32 champions Val Chmerkovskiy and Xochitl Gomez returned to give another performance and pass the torch to the new champions. Xochitl expressed how excited she was to be back in the ballroom. Even though she was sad that her time as the reigning champ was coming to an end, she felt proud to hand the trophy off to a truly deserving contestant.
Just like Season 32, Season 33 featured a final five and a three-hour finale. This year’s finale contestants included:
- Stephen Nedoroscik & Rylee Arnold
- Chandler Kinney & Brandon Armstrong
- Ilona Maher & Alan Bersten
- Joey Graziadei & Jenna Johnson
- Danny Amendola & Witney Carson
The three-hour format hasn’t been necessarily popular with viewers due to the lengthy recap at the beginning of the episode. However, others enjoy reliving the magic of the contestants’ top performances.
The extra half hour also gives the finalists a little extra time to get performance ready and put the finishing touches on their routines.
All five of this year’s finalists have been wildly popular with viewers all season long. But who ultimately won America’s hearts and votes?
Fans Are Excited To Celebrate The New Champions
At the beginning of the night, it wasn’t immediately clear who would win. Each of the final five put in immeasurable hard work and gave their performances their all. But sadly, only one couple could win first place.
The placements are as follows:
- Mirrorball Champions: Joey Graziadei & Jenna Johnson
- Runners up: Ilona Maher & Alan Bersten
- Third place: Chandler Kinney & Brandon Armstrong
- Fourth place: Stephen Nedoroscik & Rylee Arnold
- Fifth place: Danny Amendola & Witney Carson
Now, the pro dancers have time for a short break before preparing to hit the road for the 2025 tour. After rigorous training for so many months, all the DWTS Season 33 contestants are excited to relax and spend holidays with loved ones.
