Why Aren’t New Episodes Of On Patrol: Live Airing This Weekend?
On Patrol: Live is a Reelz staple for diehard fans every Friday and Saturday evening. For three hours, the police drama pumps, and it never lets up. The criminals can be scary, funny, or completely off their rockers. Regardless, fans love watching and never care what departments are showcased. Unfortunately, this past weekend, host Dan Abrams was missing from the show. Viewers were confused as to where he was as Ashleigh Banfield filled in for him. Curtis Wilson had just been MIA, and the guess was that the show would not be airing this coming weekend.
It seems that when Labor Day weekend approaches, Dan takes the weekend before off. That is why OPL will not be airing on August 29th and 30th. The holiday is a big deal and one that the show takes very seriously. Therefore, repeats will be airing in place of new ones. They do go on vacation for the vital holidays, and this is no exception. However, some fans are not thrilled that this is not the only weekend the show will be MIA. It will also be off the air September 5th and 6th.

That is because that weekend is CrimeCon, so two weekends, all repeats. Of course, On Patrol: Live fans do not know what they will do without new episodes. They want updates on some of the crazy criminals from the past and are upset that this will not be happening. At the same time, Reelz is airing the best encores throughout the week. So, that should appease faithful viewers for at least some time.
A Lot Of Confusion
There was a lot of confusion about how long On Patrol: Live would be on hiatus. Many expected Labor Day weekend, but not the following. Luckily, fans knew about CrimeCon and understood that it would further halt new episodes:
- Don’t forget weekend after next is crimecon I think so no new shows for 2 weekends
- no new episodes next weekend! i won’t make it! we can all sit & pout together.
- It appears that ‘On Patrol: Live’ will not be airing for the next 2 weekends, according to my ‘sources’. Again, it would be ‘helpful’ if this was stated by the ‘anchors’ on this show, rather than have viewers confused as to what is going on.
Having Ashleigh Banfield as a replacement host did not please all viewers. However, they did enjoy the appearance by Sean ‘Sticks’ Larkin and wished he had been at the helm of the series.
