It’s time to take a journey… One of the best animated films of 2024 is the wondrous creation Flow from the Latvian filmmaker Gints Zilbalodis. This is his second feature his other animated film Away (2019) and it already premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. It also won the Audience Award, Jury Prize, and Best Original Score winner at the Annecy Film Festival this year, which proves how acclaimed it is already. Flow is a stunning, totally dialogue free, superbly entrancing movie about a group of animals trying to survive a world that is flooding. Cat is a solitary animal, but as its home is devastated by a great flood, he finds refuge on a boat populated by a few other species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences. This first full trailer for Gints’ Flow is actually the official Latvian trailer, for his home country, but it’s still amazing to watch anyway (and FS is quoted in it) – since it’s all about the visuals and there’s no one talking anyway. Get an early look & feel for this wonderful film about a cat, capybara, lemur and bird. 🐈⬛

In the lonesome boat sailing through mystical overflowed landscapes, they must navigate the challenges and dangers of adapting to this new world.” Flow, also known as Straume in Latvian, is written and directed by talented Latvian animation filmmaker Gints Zilbalodis, also director of the film Away previously, plus many other creative short films. The screenplay is also co-written by Matiss Kaza. Produced by Ron Dyens, Matiss Kaza, Gregory Zalcman, Gints Zilbalodis.
