“Do you believe in the boogeyman?” Warner Bros will be releasing a new 4K Ultra HD version of this horror classic on Blu-ray in October this fall, and they’ve released a new trailer to mark the occasion. Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street originally opened in November of 1984 – which mean it’s celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The horror hit created an entire mythology along with the successful franchise. There have been a grand total of nine Freddy Krueger movies so far, including five sequels to the original, and the 2010 remake as well. The original stars Heather Langenkamp, John Saxon, Ronee Blakely, Amanda Wyss, Nick Corri, Johnny Depp, and Robert Englund as the beloved horror icon Freddy Krueger. Teenager Nancy Thompson must uncover the dark truth concealed by her parents after she and her friends become targets of the spirit of a serial killer with a bladed glove in their dreams, in which if they die, it kills them in real life. The new BR will include alternate endings, commentaries, and more. A colleague wrote on Twitter: “few things hit quite like freshly cut trailer for a movie you’ve seen a dozen times.” Agreed.
Here’s the new 4K release trailer for Wes Craven’s classic A Nightmare on Elm Street, from YouTube:
