“Copenhagen, I want chaos! And don’t talk. Don’t say one word to each other.” Magnolia Pics has unveiled an official US trailer for a gritty Danish heist thriller called The Quiet Ones – the second feature film from filmmaker Frederik Louis Hviid (after Enforcement). This first premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival last year, and it’s set for a limited US release starting in February. In 2008, a group of men from Denmark and across Europe pull off the biggest heist of all time on Danish soil. Kasper, a boxer with few chances left in life, is offered the opportunity to plan the robbery by its foreign initiators. At the risk of losing his family and everything that matters to him he takes on the challenge in a risky bid to break all heist records and secure his place in the history books. With Reda Kateb, Gustav Giese, Amanda Collin, Christopher Wagelin, Jens Hultén, Granit Rushiti, Amin Ahmed, and Camilla Lau. This looks gnarly! As always, I’m way more fascinated in how they setup and arranged and pulled off this heist more than anything else.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Frederik Louis Hviid’s The Quiet Ones, direct from YouTube:
The Quiet Ones is a suspenseful action drama that depicts a group of extremely tenacious, ambitious, and uncompromising robbers who all share the same ambition: to succeed with the impossible – despite major obstacles, internal conflicts, secret agendas, and personal costs. The story of the largest, most spectacular coup in Danish history, and the long, detailed, risky preparation it took to create a shortcut to greatness and wealth. At whatever cost. Inspired by true events. The Quiet Ones, also known as De lydløse in Danish, is directed by the Danish filmmaker Frederik Louis Hviid, director of the film Enforcement previously, plus “Follow the Money” episodes and many other short films. The screenplay is written by Anders Frithiof August. Produced by Kasper Dissing. This initially premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival last year and opened in Denmark last fall, with a stop by the 2025 Palm Spring Film Festival. Magnolia Pictures will debut The Quiet Ones in select US theaters starting on February 21st, 2025 this winter. Look any good?
