“An extreme threat, requires extreme measures…” Signature Ent. in the UK has unveiled an official trailer for an action thriller movie titled Tin Soldier, the latest directed by Brad Furman (of The Lincoln Lawyer, Runner Runner). This is another one of these really bad, schlocky action movies that’s getting dumped on VOD right away because it’s just so uninteresting. There’s still no US release set, but it will be out on Prime Video in the UK (only) this summer. “The Bokushi” offers a program for US combat veterans seeking their “purpose” and path forward. But now the Government is concerned with the rapid rise of this well-armed, highly trained program of elite mercenaries, so they recruit one who used to be a member to infiltrate & stop them. Starring Jamie Foxx, Robert De Niro, Scott Eastwood, John Leguizamo, Joey Bicicchi, and Rita Ora. That’s a remarkably strong cast for a movie being dumped on VOD, no idea how they pulled this off. Jamie Foxx as a kooky mercenary cult leader? Sure, why not. But still doesn’t look like it’ll be any good.

Jamie Foxx will put you under his spell in this cult compound extraction thriller. The Bokushi preaches to hundreds of war veterans, drawn to the promise of protection and purpose under him. Surrounded by his devout military-trained followers, he has built an impenetrable fortress & amassed an arsenal. After several failed infiltration attempts, the government – in the form of operative Emmanuel Ashburn – recruits Nash Cavanaugh, an ex-special forces asset, who was once a disciple of The Bokushi. Nash agrees to use his vulnerable past & insider knowledge of the enigmatic leader to finally get revenge on the man who took everything from him, including the love of his life. Tin Soldier is directed by American filmmaker Brad Furman, the director of The Take, The Lincoln Lawyer, Runner Runner, The Infiltrator, City of Lies previously. The screenplay is written Jess Fuerst and Pablo Fenjves, with Brad Furman. Produced by Steven Chasman, Brad Feinstein, Jess Fuerst, Brad Furman, Keith Kjarval, Jim Seibel. Signature Ent will debut Tin Soldier direct-to-streaming in the UK starting July 23rd, 2025. No US release date is set yet – stay tuned.
