“We down with the clown, ’till we dead in the ground.” Freestyle Digital Media has unveiled the trailer for an indie comedy called Off Ramp, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Nathan Tape. This originally premiered at the 2023 Splat!FilmFest Horror Film Festival in Poland last year, and will debut on VOD in the US in September. A couple of lovable, degenerate Juggalos sojourn through America’s hellish underbelly to The Gathering of the Juggalos, the one & only place on earth they feel accepted. The film stars Jon Oswald, Scott Turner, Ashley Smith, Jared Bankens, Reed Diamond, and Miles Doleac. The director states: “Much Clown love from all the Juggalos over here at Off Ramp. We are stoked to be teaming up with Freestyle Digital Media in the release of this wild genre crossover hit. We are grateful that the film resonated with the fine folks at Freestyle who see the value in it and its universal message of acceptance. WHOOP WHOOP!” The boys cross paths with a psychotic Sheriff, a trailer park princess, a gang of occult rednecks, and a good-ol-boy cop tripping on LSD. And then things start to get really crazy… Sounds like fun.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Nathan Tape’s horror film Off Ramp, direct from YouTube:
Filmed in New Orleans, Off Ramp tells the story of Trey and Silas (Jon Oswald & Scott Turner Schofield), a couple of lovable, degenerate Juggalos who must sojourn through America’s hellish underbelly to The Gathering of the Juggalos – the one place on earth they feel accepted. Juggalos are fans of the hip hop group Insane Clown Posse (ICP) and other artists signed to Psychopathic Records, ICP’s record label. The term “Juggalo” comes from ICP’s 1992 song “The Juggla” – it’s considered a term of endearment. Juggalos are known for their unique culture, which includes their own slang and idioms, and their signature look of the clown-like face paint. Off Ramp is directed by American genre filmmaker Nathan Tape, making his feature directorial debut after tons of shorts & music videos previously. The screenplay is co-written by Tape and Tim Cairo. Produced by Fabiola Andrade, Laura Cassidy, and Tape. Freestyle Digital Media will release Tape’s Off Ramp film in select US theaters + on VOD starting September 6th, 2024 this fall. Look good?
