“I’m trying to put an end to this game.” Are you ready to play? Netflix has revealed the main official trailer for Squid Game 2, the second season of the hit Korean thriller series Squid Game from 2021. It’s a direct continuation following 456 who returns to the game – with a sneaky plan in mind. Three years after winning, Player 456 gives up going to America and comes back with a new resolution to put at end to this vicious game. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of ₩45.6 billion. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk returns to write & direct. Actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, & Gong Yoo reprise their roles from Season 1 – joined by new cast members: Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an. This new trailer hints at this sequel being quite darker, angrier, and more bleak as 456 realizes everyone is just extremely greedy & selfish. It seems to be meta commentary on the huge success of the first season and Netflix turning it into a real game – as if no one learned any lessons. Oh yes let’s go – bring it on.
