“You cannot stop what has begun.” Disney+ has revealed the main official trailer for a new animated Star Wars series called Tales of the Empire, officially the follow-up second season of the Tales of the Jedi series from 2022. This is a continuation but with an entirely different focus. Tales of the Empire is also split into two arcs – with one following Morgan Elsbeth (voiced by Diana Lee Inosanto) and the other following former Jedi Barriss Offee (voiced by Meredith Salenger). The new series will launch on Star Wars Day, May 4th, coming soon, featuring six episodes in total to enjoy. The talented voice cast for Tales of the Empire includes Diana Lee Inosanto, Meredith Salenger, Rya Kihlstedt (Lyn, aka Fourth Sister), Wing T. Chao (Wing), Lars Mikkelsen (Thrawn), Jason Isaacs (Grand Inquisitor), & Matthew Wood (General Grievous). This looks pretty damn good! Same style as the Tales of the Jedi and Clone Wars series before it, with darker themes following happenings in the Empire. I’m really digging all of this footage! They got my attention. Especially with Thrawn, General Grievous, Darth Vader, and more characters showing up in here.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Disney+’s series Tales of the Empire, direct from YouTube:
“Long live the Empire.” Star Wars: Tales of the Empire is a six-episode journey into the fearsome Galactic Empire through the eyes of two warriors on divergent paths, and set during different eras. After losing everything, young Morgan Elsbeth navigates the expanding Imperial world toward a path of vengeance, while former Jedi Barriss Offee does what she must to survive a rapidly changing galaxy. The choices they make will define their destinies. Tales of the Empire is an animated series created by the Star Wars maestro Dave Filoni (also creator of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka, Star Wars Resistance, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Tales of the Jedi) for Disney+ and Lucasfilm. He also serves as supervising director on this. The complete credits for writers & directors have not been confirmed yet. Produced by Alex Spotswood. Exec produced by Athena Yvette Portillo, Carrie Beck, and Dave Filoni. Disney will debut all six episodes of Tales of the Empire streaming on Disney+ starting May 4th, 2024 coming soon. How cool does this series look?
