“Maybe they weren’t pool people?” Universal Pictures + Blumhouse have revealed the second official trailer for a scary supernatural thriller titled Night Swim. A haunted swimming pool horror?! Ohh yes. Atomic Monster and Blumhouse Productions, the producers of M3GAN, high dive into the deep end of horror with the new supernatural thriller, Night Swim. Produced by James Wan and Jason Blum, this horror film is a feature length adaptation of the 2014 short film about a woman swimming in her pool at night terrorized by an evil spirit. In this feature version, the story follows a former pro baseball player who ends his career with a degenerative illness and retires to his fancy home with a nice pool. But something is in that pool… Starring Wyatt Russell, Kerry Condon, Amélie Hoeferle, and Gavin Warren. This actually looks legitimately scary, with some seriously creepy scenes. The opening with the ghost in the drain in daylight really got me.

You can rewatch the first official trailer for McGuire’s Night Swim right here, for the first look again.
Based on the acclaimed 2014 short film by Rod Blackhurst & Bryce McGuire, Wyatt Russell stars as Ray Waller, a former major league baseball player forced into early retirement by a degenerative illness, who moves into a new home with his concerned wife Eve (Oscar nominee Kerry Condon), teen daughter Izzy (Amélie Hoeferle) and young son Elliot (Gavin Warren). Secretly hoping, against the odds, to return to pro ball, Ray persuades Eve that the new home’s shimmering backyard swimming pool will be fun for the kids and provide physical therapy for him. But a dark secret in the home’s past will unleash a malevolent force that will drag the family under, into the depths of inescapable terror. Night Swim is written & directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Bryce McGuire, writer of the upcoming Baghead, making his second feature after Unfollowed and many other shorts previously. From a story by Rod Blackhurst and Bryce McGuire. It’s produced by James Wan, the filmmaker behind the Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring franchises, and Jason Blum. Universal will release Night Swim in theaters starting on January 5th, 2024 just after New Years.
