“If Pat was still here, she would have agreed with me.” Strand Releasing has unveiled an official trailer for an indie film titled All Shall Be Well set in Hong Kong, made by the filmmaker Ray Yeung. This sapphic drama originally premiered at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, and it also played at the Hong Kong, Seattle, and Sydney Film Festivals. Angie & Pat (starring Patra Au & Lin-Lin Li, respectively) are a lesbian couple living in Hong Kong who have been together for over 4 decades. After Pat’s unexpected death, Angie finds herself at the mercy of her extended family as she struggles to retain both her dignity as well as the home that they shared for over thirty years. Also starring Tai-Bo, So-Ying Hui, Chung-Hang Leung, Fish Liew, & Rachel Leung. Reviews say that the film takes “the approachable genre of the family drama and [places] it in the context of topical issues in today’s queer Hong Kong.” It will be opening in limited US theaters sometime soon if anyone wants to watch this. Check out some footage from All Shall Be Well below.

She helped raise Fanny and Victor which their parents were grateful for. All Shall Be Well is written and directed by the Hong Kong indie filmmaker Ray Yeung, director of the films Cut Sleeve Boys, Front Cover, and Twilight’s Kiss previously. Produced by Teresa Kwong, Chowee Leow, Michael J. Werner, Sandy Yip. This intially premiered at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival earlier this year.
