“Today’s the perfect day for bloodbath.” Brainstorm Media has revealed the official US trailer for an action epic about a real moment in history titled Stockholm Bloodbath, yet another new film made by Swedish director Mikael Håfström. He also directed this year’s Slingshot, but this film was finished before that one and premiered in Sweden last year – only now getting a US release. Anne and Freja seek revenge on the men who murdered their family. They end up in Stockholm, where they are drawn into a political power struggle between Sweden and Denmark which culminates in a mass execution. Featuring a big cast of international actors, including Sophie Cookson, Claes Bang, and Alba August, Stockholm Bloodbath is an action, adventure, and comedy that follows two sisters who seek revenge on the powerful men who brutally slayed their family. The cast also features Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Jakob Oftebro, Ulrich Thomsen, Emily Beecham, Thomas Chaanhing, Kate Ashfield, Adam Pålsson, and Wilf Scolding. Damn! This looks big and epic and gnarly. Caught up in this deadly war, two sisters seek revenge on the men who brutally murdered their family. “For carnage and glory.” Stockholm Bloodbath is directed by acclaimed Swedish filmmaker Mikael Håfström, director of many movies including Vendetta, Days Like This, Evil, Drowning Ghost, Derailed, 1408, Shanghai, The Rite, Escape Plan, Quick, Outside the Wire, and also 2024’s sci-fi Slingshot. The screenplay is written by Erlend Loe with Nora Landsrød. Produced by Helena Danielsson. This initially premiered and opened in Sweden in December 2023 last year. Brainstorm Media will release Håfström’s Stockholm Bloodbath in select US theaters + on VOD starting November 8th, 2024 this fall. Look good?
