“I just really want to be complete.” Take a journey with Ren through a surreal world of existence and love and connection in this one-of-a-kind film. Other Half is an animated short made by Bulgarian filmmaker Lina Kalcheva, originally created as her graduation project from the NFTS in the UK. Co-created with her producer Michelle Brøndum. In a world comprised of Merged Couples, Ren longs to find his other half and become complete. “Ren is a character that loves love & is full of hope about what being complete will mean,” Lina explains. “Despite their optimism, Ren’s desire to be complete is obsessive and it is this that catapults them on their hero’s quest to find their other half. Through a series of challenges Ren is forced to confront the reality of what it truly means to find completeness.” Starring the voices of John Chisham, Evanna Lynch, Dylan Edwards, and Matthew Biddulph. The short screened at numerous film fests throughout 2022 and 2023, and is now online for all to enjoy. It’s kind of hard to fully describe – you must experience it.
