Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital is missing one of its beloved doctors.
On season two of The Pitt, Tracy Ifeachor‘s character has been noticeably absent from the emergency room, and Dr. Dennis Whitaker (Gerran Howell) finally explained in episode four, which aired Jan. 29, where her character Dr. Heather Collins had gone.
Whitaker told patient Louie (Ernest Harden Jr.) when he requested her care that Collins had finished her residency and took up a job in Portland as an attending physician. More excitingly, the resident shared that Collins had “adopted a baby,” and moved across the country to be closer to her family.
Ifeachor was last seen on the third to last episode of season one, when her character seemingly alluded during a conversation with Noah Wyle‘s Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch she had an abortion while they were dating years ago.
“I wasn’t ready to be a mom then. I wasn’t even sure about the relationship. I never told him,” Collins tearfully shared. “I was afraid of it all—but mostly, I was afraid he’d hate me for being selfish.”
But Robby assured her the decision was not “selfish,” telling Collins that her ex “would want you to forgive yourself.”
