Owen Wilson, Jude Law & More Join Stacked Cast of New Nancy Meyers Movie

Warner Bros. Pictures has finally announced the star-studded ensemble and release date for acclaimed director Nancy Meyers‘ long-awaited comeback movie. This follows the studio picking up the untitled project last October after it was cancelled by Netflix in 2023 due to budget disagreements.

Who is joining the new Nancy Meyers movie?

Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers, Marry Me), Jude Law (The Holiday, Alfie), Penélope Cruz (Vicky Cristina Barcelona), Kieran Culkin (Succession, A Real Pain), and Emma Mackey (Sex Education, Barbie) have officially entered final negotiations to join the ensemble cast of Meyer’s untitled film. Scarlett Johansson and Michael Fassbender were previously in talks for the project.

It has been confirmed that the movie will arrive in theaters on December 25, 2027. Currently, the movie has no box office competition on the day of its release. However, it will be debuting in the same month as the highly anticipated Avengers: Secret Wars.

Meyers will be writing and directing the film, which will serve as Meyers’ feature directorial comeback after directing Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro in the 2015 dramedy The Intern. She is best known for her work in many iconic movies, including Private Benjamin, The Parent Trap, The Father of the Bride, What Women Want, and Something’s Gotta Give. Meyers and Ilona Herzberg are producing with Diana Pokorny set as an executive producer.

At the moment, further details about its plot and characters are still under wraps. Previous reports suggesting that the movie would be a semi-autobiographical movie about a filmmaker and a producer are said to be false. It was also previously reported that production might potentially begin in early 2026 in Los Angeles.
