Like it or not, the holiday season is upon us. Between the cooking, family visits and finding the funds for Christmas gifts, you may be tempted to find an escape in some bloody horror. Have no fear dear ready, we have cultivated a list of some of the best holiday horror films you can stream for free on Tubi. Settle in, things are about to get goofy.
Thankskilling
Thankskilling is one of those films that feels like a fever dream. How the creators of this project got the idea of a killer talking turkey is beyond me, but I am so happy that they did. The film is gross, bloody, and so much fun.
Now, it should be stated that Thankskilling is not a film for everyone. Unfortunately, the film can be quite offensive to basically every group. However, if this isn’t something that bothers you, Thankskilling is a bloody good way to spend those dark holiday nights.
Better Watch Out
Have you ever wondered what a more realistic version of Home Alone would look like? If so, then Better Watch Out is the perfect holiday film for you. The movie follows a very simple plot, a babysitter and her ward are attacked by criminals in the night.
However, Better Watch Out gives the premise a unique and bloody turn. What comes to pass is a bloody ride that answers questions such as, wouldn’t a paint can moving at that speed just rip your head off? If you are looking for a film with a unique twist this holiday season, go see Better Watch Out.
Christmas Evil
You can’t do a holiday list and leave out the classics. Christmas Evil takes a darker look at the song “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”. The film follows a mentally unwell man who keeps a naughty and nice list for the neighborhood children. As you can guess, things take a dark turn during the holiday season.
While it might not be the scariest film on the list, Christmas Evil is one of the films that led to the creation of the holiday horror genre. This classic film should be on the must watch lists for all those horror historians out there.
Rare Exports
Foreign film fans out there already know that Rare Exports is one of the best holiday horror films ever made. The film takes the Santa Claus mythos and turns them on their head in a diabolically delicious way.
Rare Exports follows a young boy and his father who make the wild discovery that Santa is real. However, this version of the red god is a bit more bloodthirsty than those in the story books. If you are looking for a new film to watch year after year, check out Rare Exports.
The Killing Tree
Ok, we have covered some really good films in this list. However, I think it is important to watch one bonkers holiday film each year. If you feel the same way, The Killing Tree is the film for you.
After a botched resurrection spell, a serial killer is brought back to life in the form of a Christmas tree. He must now finish what he started in the form of a fully decorated tree. Is the film good? No. However, sometimes you just want to sit back, pound some eggnog, and take your mind off the horrors of the real world for a while.
