The ultimate horror/Halloween fan event, Midsummer Scream, will offer its attendees an especially frightening surprise this year. The convention has announced an exclusive advance screening of The Jester 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the viral horror sensation The Jester, as part of its after-hours event The Party From Beyond on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Long Beach, California.
Held at the Long Beach Convention Center from August 15–17, this year’s Midsummer Scream will once again serve as a hub for horror lovers and industry insiders. Our sister company, Epic Pictures, will present the screening as part of the Dread label. It will be introduced in person by returning visionary director Colin Krawchuk, who first saw viral success with his mysterious short films on YouTube. A post-film Q&A, moderated by genre expert James Branscome, will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s production and the fascinating evolution of its chilling central antagonist.
The Jester 2 centers on Max, a teenage magician who finds themself hunted on Halloween night by a supernatural killer whose illusions blur the line between magic and murder. With a new setting, higher stakes, and an even larger scope, the sequel builds on the eerie mythology of the original cult hit, which gained popularity for its nightmarish and iconic villain.
“Midsummer Scream is the beating heart of horror fandom, and there’s no better place to unleash our first sneak peek of The Jester 2,” said Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald about the killer annual event.
The screening is open to all guests holding either a Party From Beyond pass or the all-access Gold Bat badge. Beyond exclusive screenings, Midsummer Scream 2025 will feature over 300 horror-themed exhibitors, immersive live entertainment, the sprawling Hall of Shadows haunt zone, and panels with leading names like Halloween Horror Nights, Paramount Scares, and Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group.
