Sylvester Stallone has revealed his thoughts regarding AI. The Rocky star’s comments follow recent viral backlash over one of his ideas involving artificial intelligence.
In a recent episode of The Overlap podcast, the actor addressed the backlash he received for his “half human, half AI” movie idea. Stallone said, “I get in trouble for this [but] AI is here to stay. I wanted to do half-human, half-AI and put it together, and of course everyone’s going nuts. I go, that’s happening, guys. People are selling their images. There’s going to be 20 Elvis avatars. This is happening.’”
The Oscar-winning actor added, “I would take that risk, even though you get blasted bombastically from the creative community. And their [complaints are] right! They’re right. But we can’t stop this. It’s an avalanche. It’s just out of our control. If you don’t go with it, you will be trampled by it.”
What did Sylvester Stallone previously say about AI?
Stallone’s previous comments on AI came with his idea to make a young John Rambo movie using AI and de-aging. In a 2025 interview with the Bingeworthy podcast, the actor said, “Everyone thought I was crazy. AI is sophisticated enough to go through Saigon to see him at 18 years old and basically use the same image. So it isn’t as big a stretch.”
Moreover, the actor also thinks that new actors could face many difficulties breaking into the industry because of AI and de-aging tools. In The Overlap podcast, Stallone recalled telling his daughter, Scarlet Rose Stallone, to get into gaming or another industry because of his view.
That said, a new movie on the origins of Rambo is currently in the works. This movie will feature the Street Fighter actor, Noah Centineo, in the lead role. Stallone is not attached to this project.
