Chris Pratt has been at the center of a controversy over his homophobic behavior
Chris Pratt came under the distribution of activists of the LGBT community . The other day, a post by one of the users went viral on Twitter, in which the actor is accused of homophobia and rude statements against other people. Pictures of Chris were posted next to pictures of American actor Patrick Wilson, who bears a striking resemblance to him. Users demanded to replace Pratt with Wilson in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Director James Gunn immediately came to his defense. “Because of your fabricated and completely false ideas about him, will you forgive him for canceling it? Because someone else suggested you a lie about him? Chris Pratt will never be substituted as Star-Lord, but even if that were to happen, the entire team would leave with him,” the director wrote in response to the controversial tweet.
Recall that Pratt has come under fire for his association with the Hillsong Church, which celebrities such as Elliot Page have condemned for humiliating and insulting the LGBT community. If you’re a well-known actor and you belong to an institution that despises a specific group of people, don’t be surprised if someone treats you the same way,” says Page.
Pratt himself replied: “I go to a church that opens its doors to absolutely everyone. I am a person who believes that everyone has the right to love whomever they want, regardless of the condemnation of their neighbor.
The media has long linked Pratt to Hill Song, a global evangelical mega-church that has criticized homosexuality as a sin and not allowing homosexuals to play a leading role. We are a gay-welcoming church, but we are not a church that endorses gay lifestyles, writes leader Brian Houston on the church’s website. In 2019, though, Houston said Pratt has never been a member of Hill Song.
