What is Hilary Duff’s fear in her marriage?
That her hubby, Matthew Koma, will one day cheat and leave her for another woman!
The 38-year-old singer dropped a new album, Luck… Or Something, on Friday, where she got super real about a variety of topics — including the rift with her sister and what she worries about most in her relationship! On the track Holiday Party, she struggles with the fear of Matthew cheating on her. She sings:
“In my head you live another life, where you f**k all my friends / And wish someone else could’ve been your wife / (I love you, I love you) / I’m sorry, I’m sorry for letting it get the best of me again / I’m too emotional, I guess (Ah-ah, oh) / When I look at that body I’m not trusting nobody / I imagine you in a corner booth getting way too cozy / In my head, you got touchy at the holiday party / In the charcoal suit that I like on you / In my imagination / She’s there with her eyes so starry, holding your coffee / In my imagination / I’m another victim of the holiday party”
FYI, Matthew co-wrote and produced the song with Hilary! We wonder how that conversation went when she brought up this idea in the studio! LOLz! Listen (below):
Speaking to Rolling Stone on Friday, Hilary admitted she even dreams of Matthew cheating on her all the time! Yikes!
She said:
“I always think Matt’s going to leave me for some coolio indie songwriter that he works with.”
Hilary, however, doesn’t have anything to worry about! At least that is what Matthew himself fired back! He told the outlet:
“Which is so insane. But also very real. Those are real things to get hung up on emotionally.”
So true! Many people can relate to how Hilary feels!
But as Matthew suggested, he is not running away with a cool “indie songwriter” anytime soon! He is fully committed to the Lizzie McGuire alum and has been since day one! Perezcious readers may know that Hilary met the music producer back in 2015, which was the last time she released new music. She recalled to Rolling Stone:
“We got set up through my A&R person, and we ended up hanging for two hours, just talking about music. Matt sent an email to his manager afterwards and was like, ‘She’s really pretty.’”
Matthew clarified he actually wrote, “I want to marry her,” in the email, though. Aww! Flash forward to 2019, and they tied the knot! Now, let’s just hope Hilary’s worries don’t come true!
