Talk about a blast from the past!
Jodie Sweetin is looking back at her childhood on Full House, and one particular Christmas episode left quite an impression on her. In fact, she remembers taking her character Stephanie Tanner’s holiday predicament VERY seriously!
In a new interview with Parade this weekend, the now-44-year-old actress recalled filming the beloved sitcom’s first Christmas episode, titled “Our Very First Christmas Show,” way back in 1988.

Sweetin was just SIX years old at the time! And the episode’s storyline presented a pretty major problem for little Stephanie!
Remember that one? Basically, the Tanner family gets stranded at an airport during a snowstorm, throwing their Christmas plans into complete chaos. But Stephanie has a much bigger concern than delayed flights or missing the holiday festivities: How the heck is Santa Claus supposed to find them if they’re stuck at the airport?!?!
She recalled:
“I remember, I don’t know why, but the first Christmas episode that we had where the family gets stuck in the airport in Colorado. We’re trying to get to Becky’s family or to somewhere and we don’t make it. I remember it really vividly. I think because Steph had a big piece in it where she was really worried that Santa wasn’t gonna find him.”
And apparently, that was a dilemma young Jodie took to heart!
Sweetin recalled treating Stephanie’s holiday emergency like “a legit” issue, even remembering herself wondering:
“How are we solving this problem? You know? I got to draw the little map that Steph has to let Santa find them and everything. I just remember that.”
Ha!!! Priorities, people! Santa needs directions!
In fact, Sweetin remembered getting to draw a little map for Stephanie to help Santa find the family and deliver their presents. And nearly four decades later, that adorable detail has stuck with her!

But those weren’t the only memories that came flooding back! Sweetin also recalled John Stamos, who of course played Uncle Jesse, getting unexpectedly kissed by a woman while wearing a turtleneck. Looking back, she described that particular moment as “really inappropriate.”
And she remembered the late, great Bob Saget, who played her legendary TV dad Danny Tanner, appearing on an airport conveyor belt covered in snow!
For Sweetin, though, the whole experience was particularly memorable because she was still a little kid getting to experience the magic of Christmas on television for the very first time:
“It was the first time I got to play Christmas on TV, you know? As a kid, that’s kind of fun and exciting.”
Seriously, how sweet is that?!
It’s wild to think that an episode so many Full House fans grew up watching remains such a vivid childhood memory for one of its youngest stars!
Now, excuse us while we go revisit a little Tanner family Christmas nostalgia. LOLz!!!
