Lana Parrilla just cemented the fact that the best date nights involve a cemetery, sequins, and sweet transvestites. The star recounted a memory from her mother’s unforgettable outing celebrating Rocky Horror Picture Show magic for five decades at Hollywood Forever, during which Tim Curry and Barry Bostwick payed a surprise visit. The Instagram post really embodied all the glitz, glam, and esoteric mischief that go into cult classics.
“Best date night ever… A cemetery, sequins, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show with Mom — what more can a daughter ask for?” Parrilla shared with images from the event. The celebration marked 50 years since the making of one of the greatest genre-defining classics considered by now as a phenomenon among midnight movie screenings. Hollywood Forever Cemetery is known for its elaborate showings which attract an audience that dresses up, sing-along, and engage in call-and-response interactions that have recently become an integral part of Rocky Horror’s legendary screenings.
Undeniably, the event bore significance to Parrilla, for she again shared “glitz, glam, glitter, and pure mischief … the kind we live for!” The ensuing outburst from several online well-wishers was the declaration of how much they appreciated the moment between mother and daughter; one stated “You look like sisters,” while another declared, “your mom is absolutely precious.” The affection shared between Parrilla and her mother was palpable as another commented, “What more could you ask for besides a mom? You both look radiant.”
Second to fashion, many followers were compelled to comment on the adoration they felt for Parrilla’s corset: “obsessed with the corset 👏,” said one, and “Lanaaa that corset is fire🔥❤️,” stated another. Parrilla’s mother also received fashionable compliments, with one commenting, “I love your mom’s outfit helppp mama regal as Dr. Frank that’s so diva !! 😻✨✨.” The stylish duo did well to embrace the Rocky Horror glam and style in their own way.
Another great addition to the glitz was the surprise visit of Tim Curry and Barry Bostwick. The appearance of Curry as Dr. Frank-N-Furter was, in and of itself, a major highlight and a great moment for the long-time enthusiasts of the Rocky Horror, given that Curry had suffered major strokes in 2012 and had hardly been involved in public events since then. One commenter speaks of Curry’s legacy: “‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ was a Tim Curry classic but really bombed in those days of release but Tim Curry’s movie ‘Legend’ was a fan horror favorite.”
For a well-known former Evil Queen/Regina Mills of “Once Upon a Time,” the midnight anniversary celebration was quite a departure from her usual TV character yet kept within the theatrical family spirit. One commenter picked up on that, sharing, “🙌🙌awesome, the whole family is binging ‘Once Upon a Time.’” This comment set off a unique discourse crossover fanbase of Parrilla, many of them appreciating her work, but also respecting her for honoring cinematic treasures this intimately.

Over dozens of midnight screenings, the stage shows, and glamorous celebrations, Rocky Horror remains relevant in the culture. Events like Hollywood Forever Cemetery confirm how the film continues to bring together multiple generations through a common experience of nostalgia and celebration in the present. Parrilla’s post basically doubled up on that spirit by showing how a 50-year-old film can still breathe life into magical moments: between mother and daughter, between fans and original cast members, and across the entire Rocky Horror community. The event loudly stated that some traditions only grow stronger with time; while the charm of the sweet transvestite lives on. Her fashion reign continues to impress, and she recently shared a terrifying AI warning from a new book. Additionally, USA Network’s The Rainmaker has sparked fan frenzy, and she also shared a throwback to the “You” music video with Luciana Caporaso.
