Tatyana Ali followed in her TV big brother’s dance steps and joined Season 35 of Dancing With The Stars. Current host Alfonso Ribeiro competed on and won Season 19. Tatyana Ali made it through the dreaded double elimination on Horror Movie Night. She broke down in tears over the harsh criticism. Keep reading for more details.
Tatyana Ali Barely Survives Double Elimination
Tatyana Ali was paired with former Taylor Swift backup dancer Jan Ravnik on DWTS. The actress honored her late TV father, James Avery, during the emotional Dedication Night. The drama between Carrie Ann Inaba and Val Chmerkovskiy has cast a shadow over the season. However, the show must go on.
Tatyana and Jan performed a Paso Doble in a routine inspired by Sinners on the show’s Halloween episode. Guest judge Shirley Ballas was highly critical of the dance, particularly the choreography. She gave the pair a 4, Tatyana’s lowest score since the first week.
Not surprisingly, they were in the bottom three alongside Tyler Cameron and Jackson Olson. The actress received enough votes from viewers to avoid elimination. Jackson and Tyler went home in a shocking double elimination.
DWTS Contestant Breaks Down In Tears After Harsh Scores
The DWTS pros and celebrities are more active on social media during the season than ever before. Tatyana Ali posted an emotional video addressing her near elimination. She shared a collection of videos of fans cheering for her at home. Then she addressed viewers.
“Thank you so much for voting for us. I’m so happy and excited that you loved the dance. I loved it too,” she said while wiping tears from her eyes.
Tatyana Ali continued to tear up as she spoke about their upcoming performance for Disney Night. She’ll perform a Contemporary routine to “Easy as Life” from the Broadway show Aida. Dancing With The Stars temporarily moves to Monday due to election coverage.
The Fresh Prince alum promised that fans will love her next routine. “I’m seeing every single video, and I can’t tell you how it just fills my entire body and my heart and my spirit with love and with pride and with so much joy and happiness,” she said about the support from fans.
Unfortunately, not everyone is a fan. Prediction platform Kalshi, which several DWTS pros promote, has Tatyana Ali as the next contestant likely to be eliminated. The app predicts it will be her or Julia Stiles because the last four eliminations have been male celebrities.
Don’t forget that Dancing With The Stars will air on Monday, November 2, due to coverage of the midterm elections.
