Cole Hauser is an actor who has had a lot of roles over the years. For many, he is iconic in his cowboy attire as Rip Wheeler in the Yellowstone franchise. However, fans have noticed a different look from the star.
Cole Hauser Reprised His Role As Rip Wheeler On Dutton Ranch, Which Is Set To Return For A Second Season
For many, Hauser is best known for playing Rip Wheeler on the Western drama series Yellowstone, from 2018 to 2024. He reprised this role in the spin-off and sequel series, Dutton Ranch, which was renewed for a second season back in June.
Over the years, Hauser has been known for a number of projects. These include Dazed and Confused, Good Will Hunting, Pitch Black, Tigerland, The Family that Preys, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Transcendence, and A Good Day to Die Hard.

Before joining Yellowstone, Hauser also became known for appearing in a few crime dramas. This include Rogue in the 2010s and High Incident in the 1990s.
In the latter show, in which Steven Spielberg served as a co-creator and executive producer, Hauser starred as Officer Randy Willitz. The police procedural followed law enforcement within the fictional El Camino Police Department.
Watching The Resurfaced Series Has Many Fans Surprised To A Clean-Shaven Hauser, Let Alone In A Police Uniform
During its run, the series, which aired on ABC, received positive reviews. However, it struggled against competition from Friends and Diagnosis: Murder and was ultimately cancelled after its second season.
Thanks to Hauser’s growing prominence with Yellowstone and Dutton Ranch, the series has resurfaced as of late, with fans watching his early role. Many have also touched on the striking difference between Randy and Rip. While Hauser naturally traded his police uniform for cowboy attire as a Dutton, quite a few fans were surprised to see him clean-shaven and with cropped hair in the ABC show.

Over the years, a few fans have continued to share praise over the series in spite of its short run. According to The Mirror, “I was a cop for 10 years, and High Incident is the greatest cop show I have ever seen. It captured the true emotion, tension, fast pace and sheer panic of police work better than anything I have ever seen.”
Another shared, “This show was beautiful in every way. It was powerful, emotional, touching, and just great writing and filled with great actors.”
