Earlier this year, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi of Jersey Shore fame opened up with fans about her health, revealing a recent cancer diagnosis. Taking to social media, she recently took followers on a “trip” as she underwent a surgical procedure. During the share, she also highlighted why she wanted to share this story with others.
Fans Were First Introduced To Snooki Through The MTV Reality Series, Jersey Shore
Nicole Polizzi, better known by her nickname, “Snooki,” gained fame after appearing on the MTV reality series, Jersey Shore. Following this, she also appeared in the show’s various spin-offs, Snooki & Jwoww and Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
Earlier this year, Snooki revealed that doctors found cancerous cells on top of her cervix. Shortly after this, she confirmed that she had been diagnosed with Stage 1 cervical cancer.

Six months after sharing her diagnosis with the world, Snooki underwent a hysterectomy. Following this, she is now speaking out about the experience in a social media post.
Taking to Instagram, the star shared that the surgery removed her uterus, cervix, and “some parts of my vagina.” However, she also shared the support she’s been receiving amid her health journey. Polizzi shared that she got “nice warm hugs” from her husband, Jionni LaValle, and their three kids. These include Lorenzo Dominic, Angelo James, and Giovanna Marie.
The Star Noted Things Felt Like ‘Hell,’ But Wanted To Keep In ‘Good Spirits’
Snooki then departed to the hospital with her parents. Showing herself getting ready for the procedure, she shared that she “got the gown, got the cap. I feel like an alien serving this look.” She then narrated going into the operating room, sharing, “And here we are strollin’ to surgery. I’m literally terrified at this point.”
The video then cut to the star recovering after the surgery. Speaking directly to the camera, she shared, “I told you guys in general I’m not good with pain, and I’ve really been trying to be tough, but it’s not great.”

Snooki continued, “The reason is because we did that C-section cut, and he obviously ended up taking out the uterus, my cervix and then some parts of my vagina just to make sure we get everything. So that was crazy. The fallopian tubes, all of it. We kept my ovaries so I don’t go into pre-menopause, which is nice.” The star also shared that, during the procedure, her diastasis recti was treated, noting that her abs had disconnected after having three kids.
Snooki also shared why she wanted to tell her story. As she noted, “I read a lot of your comments that some of you are going to get surgery next week, you’re doing the same thing, so I’m here to show you what’s up and it’s scary, and it’s okay to be scared.” Noting previously that things felt like “hell,” Snooki maintained that she also wanted to keep in “good spirits” and knew things would get “better.”
