Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour are reuniting for another project at Netflix. The Stranger Things stars, who played Jane a.k.a. Eleven and her adoptive father Chief Jim Hopper, respectively, will star in a new spy series together.
As detailed by Variety, which first reported the news, the new series’ description reads, “Disgraced FBI agent turned security expert Matt Wolfe is drawn back into the world he left behind when his estranged daughter, Rebecca — now an FBI agent determined to follow in his footsteps — vanishes on a mission, forcing him back into a field that has evolved beyond him.”
The news comes a day after Brown teased a potential collaboration between the two, saying in a live recording of Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast that there were “concrete” plans for the actors to work together again. Brown added, “Father-daughter is where we live, but Netflix will always be our home.”
Now, details about the project are starting to come into view.
The series will be produced by A24 and will feature Harbour and Brown as another father-daughter duo. It is also being created by Adolescence‘s Jack Thorne.
According to Brown’s podcast revelation, the story stems from an idea by Harbour himself. “The David Harbour project is sooner than expected, and it’s David’s idea, so kudos to him,” she said.
The news of this collaboration will be perhaps surprising to those who saw the news cycle leading up to the release of Stranger Things‘ finale, which indicated a major rift between the actors. According to those reports, Brown filed a complaint against Harbour during production of the fantasy show’s final season for bullying on set. However, Harbour later said of the story, “It was just a simple rupture and repair thing that, once we cleared everybody out of the way and talked to each other, we’re fine.” The two also showed their continued affection for one another during the final red carpet for Stranger Things by posing together with all smiles.
