Ghosts‘ regular season may not pick up until the midseason, but the stars are already back to work on Season 6 as filming commences in Canada, and they’re giving fans some behind-the-scenes sneak peeks at the start of production.
As previously revealed, CBS‘s supernatural comedy will return for hour-long specials this fall ahead of Season 6’s official arrival, with a Halloween presentation on Thursday, October 27 and a Christmas installment on Thursday, December 10. And it appears that the stars behind this fan-favorite comedy are already busy at work.
Viewers may recall that Season 6 ended on a major cliffhanger as Pete (Richie Moriarty) seemed to disappear for good after he used his power of travel to help save Woodstone from destruction at the cost of gradually fading the longer he was away, until he was no more. Is Pete gone for good? Some of the behind-the-scenes photos may offer some answers about that mystery.
Thankfully, showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, known affectionately by the cast as “The Joes,” promise answers will arrive in the forthcoming specials, meaning fans won’t have to wait until 2027 to know if Pete made it or not. “I know it was couched as midseason, but with these specials that are going to be an hour long, we’re basically just premiering two weeks later than we normally would,” Wiseman had shared with TV Insider following Season 5’s finale.
Although they didn’t reveal major plot points, Port said, “We’re gonna pick up a couple of months after the finale took place; that’s where we’ll start, and we’re gonna go from there.”
As we await Ghosts‘ return, we’re rounding up some fun behind-the-scenes photos shared by the stars so far, and stay tuned for updates in the weeks ahead.
