Rosie O’Donnell was the moderator for The View from 2006 to 2007, but she was very controversial all the same. When she left, it made sense, but many appreciated her humor and her hot takes. Rosie Has One Favorite Co-Host
After spending one core season as The View moderator and then returning as a co-host from 2014-2015, Rosie O’Donnell has a vibe of the talk show. She got into it with some of her co-hosts as she was very firm in her beliefs. Moreover, Rosie is a comedian, so she tries to express herself and her opinions via jokes. Sometimes, they land, while others can stir up controversy and offend viewers. With Rosie being liberal, she often butted heads with the ultra-conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
Now, twenty years after she joined The View as the moderator, Rosie is sharing who her favorite co-host was. It was actually Joy Behar, which makes sense given that they are both comedians and tend to test the waters:
“My favorite probably is Behar. I like Joy Behar. We did stand up together for many years and she used to call me ‘Little One,’ because I was a young comic in my 20’s.”
However, she and Hasselbeck actually had a decent friendship until the end of Rosie O’Donnell’s time on the show. That is surprising given how much they seemed to go at one another. Therefore, Rosie tends to watch their explosive fight the most, just to try to be in that very odd moment:
“But if the Elisabeth Hasselbeck fight is on, I’m like, ‘Let me try to remember what this felt like.’ You know?”
That fight was the end of Rosie’s time as moderator, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck left in 2013. So, will Rosie be back for The View’s 30th anniversary?
Rosie’s Ready & Raring To Go
It’s been almost 30 years since The View first premiered, which feels like a lifetime ago. So, will Rosie O’Donnell be on board for a guest hosting appearance to celebrate this milestone? She is ready and raring to go:
“Next season is the 30th anniversary and Ana Navarro mentioned that when I did her podcast recently. I think that I would, and just be a guest.”
Rosie does not want to be in the middle of any arguments or political bickering. Rather, she would be satisfied dropping in and being a part of the magic and then exiting. Hopefully, that can happen because she does have a large fanbase who have missed her.
