“You made promises you need to keep.” Gravitas Ventures has revealed an official trailer for It’s A Good Day to Die, a mafia thriller meets romantic drama from filmmaker John Chua. This peculiar French crime thriller is set for a release later in August, though it hasn’t played at any festivals or shown anywhere else. A fugitive gangster falling for a beguiling go-go dancer triggers a pulse-pounding spiral of unexpected twists and betrayals. The description states: “He realizes his needs conflict with his wants and decides to change. She struggles to determine if she’s ready to accept that change herself.” Starring Julie Dray as Maria, with Daniel Lundh as David, plus Vassilis Koukalani, Jeanne Bournaud, Ana Adams, and Madeleine Pougatch. So many split screen shots in the trailer! Too many! With tons of twists and turns tossed in, too.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for John Chua’s It’s A Good Day to Die, direct from YouTube:
A mafia man (Daniel Lundh) wants to change his life. He makes a break but needs a lift from a stranger – a woman (Julie Dray). They begin to sense a feeling they’ve each not had for a very long time, caring for another. He realizes his needs conflict with his wants and decides to change. She struggles to determine if she’s ready to accept that change herself. It’s A Good Day to Die is directed by intl. writer / filmmaker John Chua, making his feature directorial debut with this film, and a co-writer on Space Dogs previously. The screenplay is written by John Chua and Suzanne Bressler. Produced by Jim Lenz. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Gravitas Ventures will debut Chua’s It’s A Good Day to Die thriller direct-to-VOD in the US starting August 13th, 2024 coming soon this summer. Who’s interested?
