“Are you sure you want him actually dead?” Oh, I bet she does… Shout Studios has revealed the official trailer for an indie thriller titled The Wasp, adapted by Morgan Lloyd Malcom from her acclaimed play of the same name. This doesn’t seem to be about a WASP, rather it’s about a wasp, as in the bee-like insects with big scary stingers that like to menace humans (and other bees). In this tense, twist-filled psychological thriller, Naomie Harris and Natalie Dormer deliver captivating performances as two estranged friends who reunite over tea, only to unveil a dangerous and deceptive plot that will irrevocably alter both of their lives. Described as “a masterclass in suspense,” this seems to be about murdering a husband, but that’s not so easy to pull off. And maybe that’s not all that’s going on? Also with Dominic Allburn & Jack Morris. This premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival, and will be opening at the end of August. Looks twisted.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Guillem Morales’ The Wasp, direct from YouTube:

The Wasp is directed by Spanish writer / filmmaker Guillem Morales, director of the films The Uninvited Guest and Julia’s Eyes previously, plus TV work recently including episodes of “The Vineyard” and “Inside No 9” most recently.
