We just stumbled across the French poster for Evil Dead Burn, and it’s the kind of artwork that stops you mid-scroll. The entire image is soaked in a blazing red that looks like molten fire and fresh blood all at once, while a deadite hangs upside down from the top of the frame, staring straight through the viewer with that unmistakable Evil Dead grin.
It’s a deceptively simple design, but it lands hard. No clutter. No floating heads. Just one hideous image daring you to look away.
Hopefully this one gets a U.S. print because it’s the rare horror poster that’s disgusting enough to earn a spot on the wall. I’d frame it in a heartbeat.
In the film, after the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on… even in death.
Dune: Part Two actress Souheila Yacoub stars as Alice in Evil Dead Burn alongside Hunter Doohan (Wednesday), Luciane Buchanan (The Night Agent), and Tandi Wright (Pearl), with Erroll Shand, Edgar Price, Maude Davey, Keanu Karim, and Victory Ndukwe.
“I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested,” Vaniček previously said of Evil Dead Burn.
“I’m going to put all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films behind it, I will move on to something other than horror!”
The MPA has officially rated Evil Dead Burn R for “strong bloody horror violence and gore, and language.”
