The blockbuster fantasy movie starring Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake has finally found a new streaming home in Peacock. During its theatrical run, the 2007 star-studded movie grossed over $800 million worldwide against a budget of around $160 million.

Starting today, 2007’s animated comedy Shrek the Third is officially available to stream on Peacock. The threequel features Shrek finding the next royal heir in hopes of avoiding becoming the king of Far Far Away. The voice cast included Diaz as Fiona, Timberlake as Artie, Mike Myers as Shrek, Rupert Everett as Prince Charming, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots, Julie Andrews as Queen Lillian, Maya Rudolph as Rapunzel, Amy Poehler as Snow White, and more. In addition, 2001’s Shrek, 2004’s Shrek 2, and 2010’s Shrek Forever After have also been released on the streamer today.
“Shrek embarks on another whirlwind adventure with Donkey and Puss in Boots to find the rightful heir to the throne. Meet the magical, misguided Merlin, an awkward Arthur, and a powerful posse of princesses in a tale where everyone lives happily ever laughter,” reads the official synopsis.
Shrek the Third was directed by Chris Miller and Raman Hui, with Miller, Jeffrey Price, Peter S. Seaman, and Aron Warner writing the screenplay. Despite its box office success, the movie received mixed reviews from critics. It has a 41% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the franchise’s lowest-rated installment to date.
Next year, the franchise will be revived with a new sequel after over a decade, featuring the return of Myers, Murphy, Diaz, and Banderas’ beloved characters. The long-awaited Shrek 5 movie will arrive in theaters on June 30, 2027. The new movie will also feature Zendaya voicing Shrek and Fiona’s daughter Felicia, while Marcello Hernández and Skyler Gisondo have been tapped to voice the couple’s sons Fergus and Farkle.
