Not long ago, Melissa Ordway confirmed that she had been taken off contract at Young and Restless. She had played the role of Abby Newman since 2013. She was honest about this change and admitted that it was not she who wanted this change to happen.
Her confirmation drew massive reactions from fans, and she made a video to explain it. “I’m still on Young and Restless, I’m still playing Abby, it’s just in a different capacity,” Ordway said in an Instagram video (via Soap Opera Digest).
“I hope that Abby and Devon have an amazing love story with Dominic and more babies [and that] I hope I am there as much as I possibly can be. I hope that they continue to write for Abby. I hope and pray for all of that. I’m here for it. I love Abby. I love playing her. I want to be there,” the actress added.
Since then, Ordway has appeared in the show from time to time. She was also seen in a recent episode, following which she took to Instagram Stories, where fans asked her impromptu questions.
When asked by a fan about her present terms with The Young and the Restless, Ordway said, “I went back for a few episodes in May that have begun to air now but they have not asked me to come back for anymore [sic]. Love to play Abby and would love to come back if they ask me.”
