Hope Williams has made another return in Days of Our Lives to bid farewell to Drake Hogestyn’s John Black. However, fans speculate that there is more to her reappearance. Kristian Alfonso, who essays the character on DOOL, recently shared more about her reprisal of the role as well as what lies ahead for Hope and Bo.
So, here’s everything fans of the hit soap opera need to know about Alfonso’s return as well as the upcoming developments for Hope.
Kristian Alfonso addresses her return and Bo and Hope’s future in Days of Our Lives
Since her departure as a full-time cast member of Days of Our Lives in 2020, Kristian Alfonso has reprised her role in multiple brief stints.
This time, the actress is back as Hope Williams for the farewell of John Black, played by Drake Hogestyn. Several cast members have returned to DOOL for the star-studded send-off to one of the show’s most iconic cast members, Hogestyn, who sadly passed away in 2024.
However, Alfonso is also back to reunite with the love of her life, Bo Brady. Played by Peter Reckell, he has finally returned after a long time in a coma. The actress recently addressed her return in a new exclusive interview with Soap Opera Digest.
Hinting at the romance between Bo and Hope, the Days of Our Lives star said, “My heart was so amazingly happy and heavy at the same time. Because, of course, we were coming back to do this amazing story and give the fans what we were going to do the last time we were there.” She added, “But also, Drake was fighting for his life,” referencing Drake Hogestyn’s battle with pancreatic cancer.
The romantic adventures of Bo and Hope have been around for decades now. This makes the prospect of another arc featuring the duo so lucrative for fans of the soap. They have also been through a lot of ups and downs. For instance, after Peter Reckell left the show in 2012, it was depicted that Bo had abandoned Hope. The two then kept going through many big twists and are finally back together in the show.
Kristian Alfonso further teased the future of the couple, saying, “It’s not just one event that takes place, it’s not just two events that take place, it’s many. There’s going to be a lot of excitement, it’s going down memory lane, and it’s storylines that are going to pull at the heartstrings. So have your tissues ready!”
Thus, with Hope Williams making a comeback, fans of Days of Our Lives have something crucial to look forward to in the upcoming episodes.
