Actress Jameela Jamil opened up about a chaotic and hilarious past involving a motor scooter, public intoxication, and a bizarre flash at a chain gang. The event was relayed by Jamil on the latest episode of her podcast, WRONGLY, featuring Annie Lederman and David Dastmalchian, which had the audience erupting in laughter and throwing some serious questions back at her.

Sneak promo clip: From the very start, Jamil dives right into a laugh-humiliating memory. At one point she had a motor scooter and got “wasted” riding around, honking at people and shouting compliments. Things spiraled out of control when she began describing making a “scooter gang” with a handful of friends. They found some prisoners-called the chain gang-who were cleaning up trash on the side of a highway. Sheping-genius-while intoxicated, Jamil blew the horn for the chain gang’s attention and gave them a very generous upper-body flash with her hands; then the real punchline comes as she snickers while explaining that her scooter stalled, and she had to cover up and push the damn thing in front of the stoned prisoners. She joked about the timing calling it “lunchtime tits” and how thinking about her “small boobs” actually made the whole thing into “a hilarious joke.”
The promo post for the episode shows enthusiasm for the content as Jamil says, “MAN I loved recording this episode. These two are epic. Especially together,” by then, the comment section was already overflowing with reactions to the wild story preview.
Many of the fans found the story absolutely hilarious. One user had the simple thing to say, “HAHAHAHA so unserious this is hilarious 😂,” a sentiment expressed by many who were just here to have a laugh after watching the promo. Another one chimed in with excitement: “Hahahahaha 😂 it’s going to be epic 🤣” and couldn´t wait for the full episode.
Another comment pretty much raised a serious subject: “Is she actually gloating about drink driving and sexually harassing people? 😮” This sparked a debate in the comment’s replies, where some defended the story saying, “no. The whole premise of the show is to tell stories that they are ashamed of and have no redemption arc.” Another replied something along the lines of, “even if she’s talking about it doesn’t mean she is advocating for it,” and one outrightly confronted with, “she’s been sober for a long time for a reason,” meaning Jamil’s wild partying days are all behind her.
The conversation around the scandal hit story was intermittently interrupted with applause for the visual elements from the promo clip. One fan declared about her co-star, “@dastmalchian always looks cool as fcuk.” Someone else gave Jamil this oddly specific compliment: “Jameela could start a fire in glacial waters lookin like that.”

Jamil’s podcast,’Wrong Turns,’ is one of the few spaces where celebrities can unburden their darkest, most shameful past with no pressure for an uplifting moral. The latest story of Jamil’s fits that description to a T, an unedited, raw pre-sober, awkwardly beautiful spin through one weird chapter of her life. The mixed reactions give only a snippet of how the audience processes this kind of content: some see it as slapstick, and others need a moment to consider the real-world consequences of what they just heard. Either way, this story has put the new episode on the map for sure as controversy plus laughter equals engagement. Jamil’s very candid style of storytelling is in fact what she has become known for, and she has also taken on a music producer role after a decade of secret work. She recently made headlines for exposing Serena Williams’ weight loss drug endorsement and her husband’s financial ties. In a candid interview, Jamil champions imperfection and perseverance. She has also issued a stark warning about weight loss drug abuse.
