What happens in the Forty Love trailer?
The Forty Love trailer opens with Sasha Gallo, played by Paul Kircher (The Animal Kingdom). Coached by his father, Gallo is seen training hard to prove his mettle on French soil. However, the young superstar’s determination to win his dream title meets a new rival, played by Romeo Beckham. His charisma becomes irresistible to Gallo.
The rival tells Gallo, “You know, everyone does say you’re boring, and I think they’re right.” Soon, the on-court tension between them turns into an intimate relationship. Beckham’s character says, “Sleep with your eyes open. I’m coming for you.”
Their romantic chemistry becomes evident when, during a press conference, Romeo Beckham’s character is asked, “What do you admire the most about Sasha Gallo?” He responds, “I don’t want to sound like I want to be his boyfriend.” The trailer then showcases numerous moments of both the players falling in love with each other. They also try to balance their professional lives.
The queer tennis film‘s ensemble cast also features Guillaume Canet, Benjamin Voisin, and Catherine Deneuve. Forty Love marks the directorial debut of fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti. 070 Shake and Johan Lenox have composed the music.
StudioCanal’s Forty Love will hit theaters in France on November 25, 2026. It has yet to receive an official international release date.
